The Business Major at Hollins University; a private liberal arts institution for women, offers a General Business track and three specialized tracks: Finance, International, and Marketing. The program combines theory with real-world experience. In the classroom, students analyze various investment vehicles, explore financial performance of specific corporations, prepare marketing campaigns, as well as design business plans for start-up companies. Their findings are presented in projects and discussed among their peers. In Senior Seminar, students take part in a computer-based business simulation. Coursework is applied in the workplace, as all business majors are required to participate in at least one 140-hour internship. Many internships are available through an extensive network of Hollins University alumnae, and include opportunities in top American and international corporations.
